OceanaGold Philippines Inc. will start operating its first copper-gold concentrate from its Didipio project in Nueva Vizcaya starting next month.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mick Wilkes revealed that milling operations have already started after the plant was earlier commissioned.
“Over the next week we will bring the flotation circuit on line and start to introduce ore to the plant. We expect to be producing copper-gold concentrate in the coming weeks and We have successfully utilized the extensive expertise that exists within the company to bring this important high-grade project into production, and that is something of real value which is being realized now,” said Wilkes.
The commissioning of Didipio project earlier this week is well within the original target and time frame.
OceanaGold has raised production with over 800,000 metric tons of ore in stockpile, including 230,000 MT on the run-of-mine storage.

OceanaGold expects to spend $10 million next year in search of another Didipio in the Philippines says Brennan Lang OceanaGold general manager.
OceanaGold is publicly listed at the Toronto, Australian and New Zealand stock exchanges, operates the Didipio project in Nueva Vizcaya, a high-grade gold copper mine.
Last year OceanaGold spent about $10 million for exploration in the company’s mining cites in Surigao, Apayao and Cagayan.
