Hello hello! I was wondering- do Mr. Fang and his ponies create their own costumes and accessories, or is there a special sewist they trust to supply and mend for the cabaret? As sweet as it is to imagine the gentler domesticity of the menagerie spending their off hours measuring, mixing, and fitting their playmates with opulent designs, it's also quite nice to imagine there existing a quiet throughline of support and acceptance stretched out among the greater community, spending silent hours tucked away to create and empower their beautifully bizarre neighbors.
I haven’t really talked about the setting the carousel cabaret and the ponies are placed into, but it’s called the 4th dimension and it’s a very capitalistic scape made up of soley street alleyways very labyrinth in nature, but in the world it’s run by cutthroat businesses that often have to fit into a niche to really beat competition and stay afloat. It’s a cry psycho-sexual surrealist world.
There’s 100% businesses dedicated to costumes, custom fitted outfits and kink related gear settled into the same area the cabaret business is settled in, (specifically called the basement district, aptly named because most of the businesses on the street are in basement establishments). I imagine they have a close business relationship as well as several of the ponies and fang ofc have a pleasant relationship with the designers and seamstresses they work with. They work in collaboration a lot with their community, not everyone in the world is into the ponyplay stuff (this extends to a lot of others working at the cabaret too) but the ones actually involved in that community are definitely more close knit then the general “community” of the rest of the 4th dimension !
Some of them do create their own costumes and help in the process of designing the gear that’s out of their skillset. I imagine star does some costume stuff, and Pearl does some leatherwork.
