Odisha CM Inaugurates Kalinga Art Gallery
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated Kalinga Art Gallery and five Regional Art Galleries. The Kalinga Art Gallery is the largest Art Gallery of the State placed in the premises of the State Museum. The five Regional Art Galleries have been set up in five districts namely, Chhatrapur (Ganjam), Puri, Balasore, Sambalpur and Koraput. The Odisha Lalit Kala Akademy has taken the initiative for the establishment of these art galleries. Attending the function on virtual mode, the Chief Minister announced that a world-class museum complex will soon come up in the State. He said that he has directed the Department of Odia Language, Literature & Culture to develop a comprehensive master plan for a world class museum complex with different facilities for history, art and culture. Highlighting the cultural glory of the State, the Chief Minister said that Odisha is a great repository of rich cultural and artistic heritage. We have unique traditions of painting, architecture, sculpture and handicrafts that reflects a long diverse cultural heritage. Art runs in our blood, ingrained in our mind. We owe a responsibility to our artistic traditions and should do everything to protect, conserve and promote this unique tradition, he added. He further said that the Kalinga Art Gallery will be a power house of art and artists of the state. It will be a confluence of artists from different regions including artists of national and international repute. It will also help art loving citizens and tourists to learn about our glorious artistic traditions, he added. The CM said that Regional Art Galleries at five districts will encourage local artists to display their artistic creativity and promote local art forms. These galleries will be a focal point of interaction among our young and budding artists, help them learn and evolve over the time. Joining the programme, Minister of Tourism, Odia Language, Literature & Culture Jyoti Prakash panigrahi said that these art galleries will provide a great boost to our artists. December 09 Odisha Assembly Pays Tribute To CDS Bipin Rawat Odisha Legislative Assembly paid rich tribute to Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika and 11 others who died in helicopter crash near Coonoor of Tamil Nadu yesterday. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik moved the condolence motion as soon as the House assembled to transact its business today. Chief Minister said, "General Bipin Rawat had an extremely distinguished career of over four decades of selfless service marked by exceptional gallantry. He was conferred with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, and many prestigious awards. He expired on December 8, 2021 at the age of 63." Terming the sad demise of General Rawat and all 11 other armed personnel an "irreparable" loss to the nation, Patnaik said: "Their outstanding service to our nation will always be remembered." Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro, BJP member Bishnu Charan Sethi, CLP leader Narasingha Mishra and Communist leader Laxman Munda spoke in the House supporting the obituary motion. Koraput Coffee can be developed as famous brand inside & outside the Country: Odisha CM
October 2 In another step towards enhancing income of the coffee farmers in Koraput district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched a dedicated e-commerce platform on international coffee day today. The website is: http://koraputcoffee.org Launching the website, CM said that #KoraputCoffee possesses high quality and can be developed to be a famous brand both inside and outside the country. He complimented the coffee growers and tribal development corporation. CM said that in just two years Koraput coffee has carved a niche for itself. For the benefit of tribal livelihood the State government has undertaken multiple initiatives for promotion of Koraput Coffee. #OdishaCares Patnaik also announced two coffee outlets named as Koraput Cafe will be set up soon; one in Koraput and the other at Niladri Beach, Puri. Dharmendra seeks Odisha CM's intervention for issuance of marksheets
August 30 Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan sought personal intervention of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for immediate provisioning of provisional final (6th) semester result or marksheet for undergraduate (UG) students of Odisha. Writing a letter to Odisha CM, Union Education Minister said, 'I understand that these students have appeared for the final (6th) semester examination through online mode in 1st and 2nd Week of August, have not been provided their 6th semester marksheet and the results are expected to be declared later in the month of September 2021. Despite repeated pleas to colleges and State education authorities, these students have not been provided provisional marksheets.' He added, 'the late publication of provisional result/non-issuance of marksheet is causing great suffering and jeopardizing the career prospects of our students as they are required to submit their final marksheets or an attested provisional marksheet for seeking postgraduate (PG) admission in various State and Central universities outside Odisha'. Dharmendra Pradhan has written in his letter, ' I am distressed to learn that many students have already missed the datelines of Central University of Mizoram and Bharathiar University, and are under severe stress due to fast-approaching deadlines for other universities such as Mumbai University, Kumaon University etc.' He has urged the CM to issue the final mark sheets or even the attested provisional mark sheets of the sixth-semester UG students so that they can pursue PG courses in various State and central universities in India in time. Odisha CM dedicates 9 ECMO Machines to the People of State
Bhubaneswar: August 27: Nine Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation or ECMO machines have been installed at SCB Medical College & Hospital (SCBMC&H) in Cuttack. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the facilities of ECMO on Friday. ECMO Machine in Odisha While inaugurating the ECMO unit at SCB Medical College & Hospital, Chief Minister said, 'I am dedicating the ECMO Machines to the People of the State. It is the biggest Unit of ECMO treatment in Entire Eastern India. Highly qualified medical professionals have been appointed for these units. Critical Covid patients need not to go to outside Odisha for treatment. ECMO treatment is very costly. But, State Government will provide this facility free of Cost'. Also, Naveen requested the People of the State to to follow Covid appropriate behavior. He said, 'The memory of second wave is painful. Lock Down restrictions have been relaxed but the danger is yet to go. We need to be extra cautious to get rid of possible third wave of Covid-19'. He further added, 'as said by Experts, children will be infected more in the third wave. To protect our children, we need to strictly follow the Covid-19 norms'.
