Percy’s Backup

Chapter 6 of ‘Of Manhattan’ was absolutely incredible! Super stellar and out of the park amazing!

@chaoticdumbassrogue has done it again with this one!

I loved the end with Percy sassing Tantalus and having (her boys) Dionysus and Asclepius back her up with the rest of the camp.

Also idk why but I now imagine Asclepius wearing glasses and Dionysus really leaning into the ‘college-aged’ look to keep from making mom Percy uncomfortable.

Also, Percy’s sassy lil smirk will haunt Tantalus for Decades! Hehehehe!

Also our lovely author of this fic is taking a well deserved break! Totally understandable! Real life and mental health should take priority! Please take care of yourself and know that the Athenide Community/fandom supports you!

I have a headcannon thanks to these posts

The headconnon is that Hades has a temple ( special place or something ) in the underworld that is specifically for his niece’s priestesses that either died during the Roman ’colonisation’ or after. I think he would make an exception for their souls and allow them to return to the living.

And, the priestesses and followers that survived and ran away (with as many things like paintings, scrolls, statues and such of Perseleia that they could safely take) either joined the Hunters of Artemis, Circe or the Amazons. And that they are all waiting for the day that lady Loyalty comes back so they can continue their duties.

Inspired by both the absolutely amazing prose written by @chaoticdumbassrogue and the glorious heartbreak @freedomanddisorder captured in Styx and Poseidon as the gods each try to uphold their duty (Styx as a deity and Poseidon as a father) despite wanting nothing more than to wish the moment wasn't taking place.

THE ATHENIDE MYTHOMAGIC!

I started working on this after reading the latest chapter of ‘Of Manhattan’ by @chaoticdumbassrogue

She has Immunity for 5 turns if the Apollon Card is in your deck and her Defense increases by 50 if Dionysus is also in the deck.

Also I didn’t realize this until I was literally pulling it up to post but I did put tiny sheer otters in her veil. But the glow I rendered around her and in her veil covered them up. Ooops!

My Math Teacher and her Umbrella

Once again @chaoticdumbassrogue has hit it out of the park with a zinger of an amazing chapter. ‘Of Manhattan’ keeps seeing me coming back again and again for rereads.

I love this canon deviation of Mrs. Dodds and the interesting character interaction between her and Percy Leia Jackson than our canon Percy Jackson. I had to draw the moment where Mrs. Dodds shielded little baby Percy with her wings and all Percy saw in the mist was a very nice umbrella.

I love the inclusion of the furies purpose as judge jury and execution of the guilty. I love the Mrs.Dodds pov. I love her being a Good teacher! I love all of this!

I love the depth that Bird gave the furies and the Underworld deities in their characterization. From Styx to Hades to even the Furies! The depth given to these admittedly side characters to our protagonist (Percy) is amazing. That kind of writing is what turns something good into something Great.

Perseleia isn’t just missed because she’s ’The main character’. She’s missed because she is ultimately good . She’s a good person and she cared. Which is leagues better treatment than 90% of the Cthonic gods got in the OG myths and in book canon.

Canon more often than not treats Hades and the rest of the Underworld as an afterthought at best and antagonistic at worst (admittedly in accordance with typical Grecian myth treatments of Cthonic gods but Still Uncle Rick!)

I love every part of this and recommend everyone who loves the Athenide AU give this a read! It’s so good!

My New Sister!

@chaoticdumbassrogue has done it again! I fell in love with chapter 3 of “Of Manhattan”

It is to die for! Dionysus’ pov had me gasping. The ‘this is my new sister’ arguments breaking out over the camp over Percy was hilarious! Love every bit of this!

I had this idea of Lee and Silena literally fighting over Percy at one point in a sort of tug o war over the poor girl! Demigods are certifiably insane and I hope I captured that.

I think I am getting better with animations but they are still rough.
