Take action for Palestinian rights and contact your members of Congress to tell them to stop arming Israel.
US friends - now is an important time to apply pressure to our reps in congress and demand an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid entry into Gaza. This website has scripts and templates that make it especially easy. More info under the cut.
If every time cis men had sex, they risked death, physical disability, social shunning, a life altering disruption of their careers or education, and the sudden life long responsibility for another human being...
They'd probably expect a choice in the matter.
I'm fully breaking my character and the nature and story of my blog for something that matters so much more right now. I'm going to be talking about what's currently going on. If you're a PoC and too tired or not okay to be seeing so much of this right now, scroll on, and know that while I can never understand, I hear you. I see you. And I am with you till the end.
I'd like to address the white folks out there. We're gonna talk about performative words and actions tonight. Right now, we need to do better. We need to do so much better. You don't need to be on the front lines right now to do the right thing and make change. If you can be, great! Providing medical assistance to injured protesters is not a crime. Use your privilege, form a wall between the cops and the PoC protesting. Do not speak over them, but instead focus on making sure their voices are the loudest. Make them heard. If for one reason or another that isn't something you can do, but you have money, donate to the Bail relief fund, the ACLU, Floyd's funeral GoFundMe, and other organizations such as the NAACP. $5 is the cost of a cup of coffee. Save the trip to starbucks for later, and donate. Anything helps. If you can't help financially or in the field, right now just LEARNING how to be better and being active in being better is help. Learn how to correctly handle and help in a situation where a BIPOC is being harassed by the police. There is a correct way. Spread calls to action to other non-black family and friends who can donate and help in the field. Call out your racist family and friends. I don't give a shit if it damages your relationships with them- CALL OUT RACIST BEHAVIOR AND MAKE NO EXCEPTIONS. Address your own racist thoughts, behaviors, and actions.
One thing we aren't gonna do, is burden BIPOC with emotional labor right now. Don't ask them what you can do. Come to your white friends who are sharing all the active ways you can help right now. Ask us. We need to do our own research, and our own learning, without expecting them to teach us. People of color DO NOT owe us an explanation, or emotional labor. Do not expect it from them, and do not ask it from them. If you want to learn from them, listen to the things they are saying right now, all around you.
Do not go posting your donation receipts. Do not go around sharing hashtag chains like the story chain going around Instagram RN. These are examples of performative actions. You donating is not a flex. Don't show it off. Don't expect or seek pats on the back, and especially not from BIPOC. if you're only doing it for feel good ally points, you aren't an ally and you don't actually care.
It's time that we step up. We need to start being better, and doing better by people of color. Innocent people have suffered at the hands of a system that we have benefited from for far too long, and we carry responsibly in tearing down that system once and for all. We need to make the steps toward change, and it starts with correcting our OWN mistakes and racism, both within ourselves and amongst the white sections of our communities. Do your part to make change, and do it now.
If i forgot something, or got something wrong, add it and please let me know if you are able. I'm still learning too, but I know that we need to start doing more than just sharing a few posts and using a hashtag. It isn't enough.
A FRIENDLY YET FIRM REMINDER
On this blog we believe:
In respecting people's pronouns
Trans rights are human rights
Trans children need to be protected at all costs
Trans people deserve to feel safe in their environment
IN STANDING UP AGAINST HATE WHEN WE SEE IT

My school board wants to shut down specialized programs schools in order to create “equal opportunity neighborhoods”. Listen, just because Johnny boy has two left feet, Dorothy-Ann has stage fright, and little Becky can’t hit that high note, doesn’t mean students who worked hard to get into these programs, and continuously work hard to maintain their attendance and grades just to stay in thee programs, should lose the opportunity to study what they love as a part of their curriculum in ways that surpasses that of a normal classroom setting. My program had already taught me more about professionalism, public speaking, respect and grounding in one year, that I have in who knows how many years prior.
So the TDSB'S Enhancing Equity Taskforce can suck my fucking dick
A little stupid but
I think I’m finally starting to love myself and that makes me so fucking happy
