“I know it’s silly,” she said, eyes peeled to the sky, as if that was any closer to where she wanted to be. “And - I should have thought about it before I left. But I miss it, and if I didn’t have animals… I’d go back for a day or two.”
She didn’t miss the smell or the people, but the sunsets and easy way of obtaining things, countless items she never knew this place would be without -
Her mother’s grave, miles and miles away.
“Just once, I’d like to go home.”
Wicca sighed, leaning against the tree he was against. He didn’t remember how this conversation got started, or even how he found himself being caught by this girl for the conversation to start.
“Yeah, it’s pretty silly.” Wicca said, pushing his hair out of his eyes. The curly bangs merely bounced back into place. He stared at her for a few moments, strikingly red eyes unblinking as the girl before him reminisced about her old home and life. He turned away and sighed, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
“Of course you could always leave. There’s no law saying you couldn’t just ask someone to babysit your pets for you while you go off for a few days. They’d do that sort of thing for someone like you, wouldn’t they?”
