It would seem to any who did not know better that Brienne had taken to avoiding her. No eye contact had been made at Winterfell’s welcome feast for their party, and aside from a stiff greeting and occasional polite pleasantries, few words had been spoken between the women. ( If one could go so far as calling her a ‘woman.’ ‘Giantess’ may be more pru- dent. )
‘Tis fortuitous, then, that none but the Lady herself should enter the bath chambers during Cersei’s luxuriant soak; even through the clouds of steam rising from the expansive tub, the fragrant oils in the air, she can recognize that ungainly body, that unseemly face. “Lady Brienne,” Cer- sei calls, waving one hand as though beckoning her over. “You must join me. T here is no better way to stave off the chill. And there is no call for modesty; after all, we are sisters now.”

It had seemed a good idea at the time, very good indeed. Alexandre loved nothing better than winning at games and with Nanny unaware that they were playing “find the sneaky princeling” he was sure to win. He’d stifled giggles when he heard her calling some time ago, delighted to have out foxed her.
Now, though, with the door to the boathouse stuck and his foot wedged into a gap between some loose boards, he thought perhaps he would like for her to return and take him inside. After all, his tummy was growling and the room was starting to get rather chilly.
When footsteps approached, he expected that Nanny Lucille had finally discovered his hiding place. “Do you give up? I'm in here!”
