He is tired. Of running, of enemies behind backs just waiting for eyes to close, of things unsaid yet acknowledged in silence. Most of all, he is tired of risks– chiefly concerning his family. Lori, Carl… things were getting OLD. He no longer wished to feel pain, to experience anguish in this sort of way. Rick had strength, that he was sure of, both physically and mentally, but it was a task ; to continue with sentiments he thought he’d thrown away and sealed. His top priority here in Alexandria was to keep his family safe, to make sure they had what they needed– whatever that took, whatever method of survival needed to be utilized.
And they understood that. Maggie understood that. There was no need for explanation. So Rick glanced over at Maggie, absorbing her words with welcome arms. They didn’t need to speak, it wasn’t necessary. All he did in that moment was nod, hand in hers, a silent thank you in play. Family didn’t end in blood. They were clear representations of that.

with chat’s, they’re so simple and easy?? even if i have little to none muse to write, i always have muse for chat/message threads. because yea, they’re small as heck and sometimes pointless. but sometimes you just want to have a little fun and not have to think so hard or go so into detail about things, yanno?? it’s the same with short threads really, sometimes you just don’t have the muse for long threads, and shorter threads can actually help give you your use back because sometimes it’s just one line or a couple of lines and it gets you back in your groove.
