Mordred rolled over, sighing and wrapping his arms around the warm body beside him. He was disorientated, his head a muddle of a million different things, which he attributed to a night of drinking, probably. He couldn’t really tell: his body felt numb and odd, and his wrists ached. But still, he put his arms around the body beside him, before reality crashed into his brain like a tidal wave— a blur of the night before replayed behind his eyelids and he shrieked, pulling away and standing, adrenaline already pumping. He didn’t get very far, his wrists and the manacles around them stopping him just half a foot from the bed, and he tumbled back into the soft down of the comforter, shutting his eyes against the brightness of the day and the too-bright person in bed beside him. “Pl-please,” he begged, “please don’t kill me.”
