he held out the puppy, examining it closely as if it'll give the secrets to the world. it was cute. what with those beautiful dark grayish eyes looking up at him, tongue out - panting to contain the vibrating excitement throughout it's body. "why are you doing this for me?" brody finally blurted out, pinning the pup back under his arm. "do you treat all acquaintances like this? i just help you train ..."

Stacey grinned widely. "What do you mean you have a surprise for me? We're not celebrating anything." Her nose scrunched sweetly as she smiled. It was a new-ish relationship, they hadn't really made it official yet, but it was fun and they always had butterflies when they saw her.

Aiden was a regular at Ros' place. He liked it here. People were nice in this town and it was a good spot to start over. Granted, he had first come here because of Colin, to keep an eye on him, do the big brother thing but he ended up falling in love with the place and after setting up his practice alongside the old doctor, things were far smoother.

Now he just had to find someone to share all that with. That had been the reason why he had broken things off with Claudia after all; she wanted to keep working and living her life and that was just fine, it just... it wasn't his life, his dreams.

"Hey Ros, can I have some stew and a beer?" he asked the lady who was, more often than not circling in his mind. Maybe one day he'll be flirty enough to ask her out. It didn't come naturally to him as it did to Colin. Plus he's had a very long day, waking up at 4 am to deliver twins.

It had never dawned on Colin just how much he was into soccer moms. Not until he moved to this little town that was full of them. Some had made advances (something about men being hot while using powertools and tool belts) and if he had been at a different time in his life he would've gone for them but he was trying to make a clean start (in more ways than one).

Speaking of soccer moms, The Soccer Mom he would absolutely go for, the one he had mentioned to Aiden while having a beer walked into college with one of her kids in toll. "Hello there, taking a class?" he asked the mom and then nodded at the kid. He liked kids, he was the 2nd oldest of 5 so kids weren't a problem (at least he hope they wouldn't be).

Paddy hadn't expected to stay here this long. It had been a couple of weeks but he had half expected being back home at the base by now. It had been stupidly easy to get used to the quiet here, the nice people, the community. No wonder his brothers had settled here (settled was a strong word to use around Colin though).

One of the things he loved the most was taking his bike through the forest--may not be the smartest decision to take his highway ready bike through the trees but the last 4 times he had done it he hadn't had a problem. This time however the old gal was choking at the first sign of a plant. So he had to walk back to the road, and then the town taking her in toll to the nearest mechanic.

He also did not expect a hot girl to be the mechanic.

"Hey there. Uhm she choked just now and normally I'd take a look at her but I don't have my tools. You think you could squeeze her in?"
