The other vessels like Esmy what do the the five great nights or any of the Nobles think of them?
The Princet, as of this point in the au is yet to be named, disappeared from the palace for approximately three light cycles and then promptly returned on the third evening in time for dinner with three other little creatures following them.
the nobles are largely unnerved by all four of the vessels and count their lucky stars that only one stays in the palace full time. That the one is the most familiar, and well behaved, one too.
The Great Knights are very fond of all four royal children. Hell, they were fond of the little Princet even when everyone thought they were a lifeless, mindless construct. So to see such similar creatures so full of life, somehow coaxing energy from the ever statuesque Princet too? Oh they’re overjoyed. Dryya oft finds herself playing chase with Pounce, as either hunter or prey in the game. The little Princess of Deepnest is most fond of this game too and is particularly smug to see Fierce Dryya finally playing. She is in no way disappointed that she needed a sibling’s assistance to finally accomplish it. Thats what siblings are for! To help! And Pounce is very good at playing Hunter and Prey with her. its almost like they already know how she moves! How to dodge her shellwood blade! Best playmate ever. Other than Holly, of course. Who always watches, attentively from the side.
Esmy likes Mighty Hedgemol and Kindly Isma best. Seemingly due to Hedgemol reminding them of their caretakers, the Nailsage and his three pupils, and Kindly Isma’s mosskin nature lending itself in harmony to Esmy’s own more Root self. Isma has attempted to warm them to her Ogrimm, but even when he raises his voice joyfully, Esmy backs away. The White Lady has mused before that it seems her most cautious child has some familiarity to Ogrimm’s voice. It is not fear, she comforts the Knight, reading as best she can into her Rootling’s unspoken words. They cannot speak but that does not mean she cannot do her best to listen. No, Esmy does not fear Ogrimm, but there is familiarity and uncertainty. As though approaching something only heard before from afar.
But Honorable Ogrimm need not despair, the Little Wanderer, perhaps the most mysterious of the royal siblings, is quite taken with him. Perhaps, the other knights tease, the way they so easily and consistently escape unseen from the palace is by burrowing like he does! But he has never seen such little tunnels. Nevertheless, he’s happy with the tiny specter’s affection. As quiet and mournful as it can be sometimes. They listen to his ramblings with a strange sort of fondness, before taking their leave. Driving their royal father half mad with their tricks all the while. And routinely throwing flowers at Ze’mer with a confusing air of…aggression? Vindication? No one’s sure what that’s about. Least of all Ze’mer.
