[ storm ] Our muses are caught in a flurry of rain, hail, snow, or wind. (first meeting in town all craziness happens?? yas?)

    Heavy snow built up rapidly. Too quickly for snow plows to be of any use -- and even then, some roads were still neglected, slower to be touched -- and with the rate that the blizzard was hammering the county, it probably wouldn’t have done a lot of good to clear it anyway. The roads were empty -- save one notable car, clearly stuck. The snow offers some resistance as he trudges through it, sticking to his jeans, piling over the tops of his boots as he makes his way to the stranger.

    He doesn’t recognize her as any of the locals that he’s met. And no one in his circle -- when he spies the license plate on the car, he knows why. Either she’s new or she’s visiting -- either way, it’s an opportunity. Everything has a motive. John isn’t troubled when it comes to dressing up in a friendly demeanor. A mix of selfishness and laziness could’ve had him stay indoors, out of the blistering cold, and while kindness takes discipline, he recognizes it’s importance. He doesn’t have to be selfish.
