Maybe that’s our trouble, Ed. We never wanna hurt anyone. We never just take what we want. There’s a part of me that’s beginning to think that this is how it is when you get to the end of your life, and then you don’t have anything to show for it.

Norma's life was a balancing act. She'd long ago come to accept this, long before she'd married Sam, long before she'd become pregnant the first time, back when she was a little girl in a world too big for her. Life had to be a balance of good things and bad things, but the bad things always seemed to outweigh the good, dragging her and her family down into the muck.
Today was another one of those days. She balanced a stack of paperwork and important mail (one of which she knew to be Norman's medical bill; he'd blacked out again during PE, during stretching exercises, and did he have any history of blackouts, Mrs Bates? No, of course not, what made them say that?) as she struggled to unlock the motel office with her free hand.
Of course, this resulted in the pile of envelopes and documents spilling to the wooden motel porch, and Norma's outburst of "Son of a bitch!" was a little louder than she'd intended, and only when she turned to pick them up did she see the new presence, and felt heat rise to her face. She took a moment to compose herself before saying, "I'm-- Wow, I'm so sorry about that. It's been a stressful day." Clearing her throat, she quickly added, "Can I help you with something?"

No! Don't Drink that Tea Gryff!
Gryff was sitting in his den, on his couch, reading while drinking some tea when he heard a knock at his front door. Opening it to find a girl standing at his door way, She looked familiar, though he wasn't quite sure. Gryff wasn't the most Sociable guy at Hogwarts so he didn't have that many friends.
"H-hi I'm Norma and we take Muggle studies together, I was wondering if you'd help me with my research paper." she asked, Gryff being the Gryffindor he was, he automatically accepted, and invited her in.
"Would you like something to drink?" he asked her when showing to the den. Norma nodded taking a seat on the couch. Watching the teen leaving the room, she pulled out a Vile and dumped the liquid into the other's drink. Throwing it over her shoulder, she quickly neated herself up waiting for Gryff to return with the teacup.
Gryff soon returned with is textbook and a cup of tea for Norma, placing it on the table he sat where his cup was. picking it up he started drinking it. Gryff always had a little habit of either biting his nails or drinking Tea when he was nervous, and right now he was beyond freaked, because there was a girl in his den, asking him to study with her.
Noting his tea tasted a little strange, he thought it must have been because it was getting cold. "So what would you like some help with?" he asked her, his head feeling funny. then words started flowing from his mouth, " I- i think I love you norma" he said staring into her eyes.
At that Norma smirked, oh how she waited for this moment, her true slytherin was showing.
