A little late for my first post for DAY 1 of #dareTOshareIGchallenge but better to show up than none, right?

For Day 1, we are asked to INTRODUCE OURSELVES. 

My husband and I opened our shop way back in 2013 and it dawn upon me that we never really get the chance to introduce ourselves and our shop. LOL!

So, here are 5 FACTS about Ohkeai and the people behind this online shop:

1 - We are a husband and wife team. This online shop's brainchild was actually my husband. He's an engineer by profession and he's the one who influenced me to open up an online shop. 

2- We're expecting our first born the year that we opened our shop so, it's basically why we wanted to put up a side business, too. But unfortunately, we never really get to operate full-time due to our other commitments but I'm glad that Ohkeai is still here. Even if we're on and off this side business. 

3 - The name of the shop was my idea. The word "KEAI" is the Mandarin word for "cute" and "OH" is one of my fave line whenever I am surprised or amazed or excited.
We initially wanted to sell cute accessories and trinkets but because we don't have a solid business plan. We ended up buying accessories in a whim for our shop.

4 - Why mandarin? Why not a Japanese word like "kawaii". 
My husband and I are OFWs in China, so, I kinda have a thing for China and Chinese. Also, the word kawaii is widely used already. I wanted the shop to sound unique.

5 - That is us in the background photo. We don't like posting selfies online so, that's the best that we can share for now. LOL! It's Jenn and Mark, by the way and the proper way to pronounce our shop is "OW-KE-AY".
