wendy doesn't usually meet up with strangers who write in to her, but she's trying to get her ghost hunting business off of the ground. this doesn't exactly sound like ghosts, but des's story intrigued her, and she wants to do what she can to help. she figured the diner she works at would be a safe enough backdrop for their meeting. the other waitstaff know her, so she'll have plenty of people to witness on her behalf—just in case.
she returns from behind the counter with a couple of coffees. she hates the thought of making her coworkers work for her even when she's not on the clock. "here." she sets one coffee, sugar, and a pitcher of cream in front of des and another at her place in the booth. despite the public place, she's selected a relatively "private" booth near the back of the diner so that des feels comfortable talking about anything she needs to. "i'm wendy, by the way. it's nice to finally meet you in person." she mostly knows des as an email address. it's nice to put a name to the handle. "where would you like to start?"
