Honestly, at this point, I don't ship Marley with anyone. Poor girl's 15, IDK why she can't just be single for a little while. (And hello once again to one of my biggest problems with Glee, sigh.)

i will hold as long you like (Quinn/Blaine; G)

Quaine angst involving a death in the family (minor character death, obvs), requested by ohmystarkid

Blaine hurries inside his and Quinn's apartment, blowing out a breath as a shiver runs through him.

"It's freezing out there," he mutters, shrugging out of his jacket and hanging it on the hook on the wall before turning towards the living room. "Been thinking about you and our warm bed all – all day –"

He stops and frowns when he sees Quinn on the couch, oddly still, staring into space with her phone clenched in her hand.

"Quinn?" he murmurs as he starts towards her. "What's wrong?"

Her gaze flicks to his face as he sinks down on the couch beside her, and he can see the tears shining in her eyes.

"What's wrong?" he asks again, reaching for her hand.

"My dad's dead," she whispers, shaking her head.

His eyes widen, and he tightens his grip on her hand as he shifts closer to her. "What happened?"

"It was an accident. He was drunk, and driving, and the roads were icy and he lost control of the car..."

She trails off, frowning in an almost confused way, and Blaine's quiet for a moment.

"Are you okay?" he finally asks, his voice soft.

"I don't – I don't know. I don't know how I feel." She shakes her head again, her gaze dropping to their hands as she shrugs. 

"He was my daddy for 16 years. I tried so hard to please him, to make him happy, to make him proud of me. I changed everything about myself because I didn't just want to fit in at school; I wanted to fit in with my own family, to be the pretty, skinny daughter I knew they really wanted."

She sniffs hard, and Blaine watches as a tear slips from her eye to roll down her cheek.

"I did everything I could to be the perfect daughter, and then I made one stupid mistake, and that was it. He threw me out when I needed him most, just – got rid of me like I was nothing. Like I was nothing."

More tears stream down her cheeks, and Blaine lifts his free hand to her back, rubbing gently as he squeezes her fingers with his other hand.

"And I hated him for that, and I still do, and I hate that I'm crying over him now, because he doesn't deserve it. He's not worth it."

She lifts her hand to her chest, pressing it over her heart, and shakes her head a third time.

"But in here, it's like I still wanted him to be proud of me, like I wanted another chance to prove that I can be a good person, a good daughter. I wanted to make up for my mistakes, and I never got the chance."

"He's the only one who had mistakes to make up for," Blaine says quietly. "You've always been a good person, Quinn. He just never took the time to see it."

"But I wanted to make him try," she replies, a soft hiccupping sob escaping her.

"I know," Blaine whispers, closing his eyes as he presses a kiss to the side of her head.

They sit silently for a minute, the only sound that of Quinn crying, and then she leans towards him, pressing against his chest as her crying turns into sobbing.

He slides his arms around her, dropping another kiss to the top of her head, and holds her tightly, willing to sit with her like this for as long as she needs.
