Mikitaka offered the cold treat in a way that humans would call proudly and affectionately. He had researched all about these dates Okuyasu invited him to. On them, people would eat their favorite snacks. The one he had in hand was pink and creamy with generous chunks of strawberry. He knew it was Okuyasu’s favorite. The boy would certainly be happy.
“What did we talk about the ice cream, Mikitaka?” the other sighed, tired. “I appreciate the thought though.”
If you like what I do, please consider supporting me on Ko-fi but only if you want and if you can. ;)

Mikitaka had tried everything. Giving Okuyasu ice cream, flowers, a box of chocolates, teddy bears. Most of the gifts were made of his body parts, at least until Josuke noticed exactly what he was doing and told him nothin’ beats the real thing, Mikitaka, and so he regrettably stopped using his body to make delicious treats and toys for the one he adored.
They were so expensive at stores, though. It was lucky Josuke lent him money, although he had mentioned something about interest which Mikitaka had read a bit about but still didn’t understand. It didn’t matter, anyway, he needed it and Josuke was trustworthy, right? So he took the money and bought three boxes of chocolates and a big bouquet of red roses—and later that day, a cute pink stuffed teddy bear, but that he’d found abandoned in the park. Quite sad, but he knew it’d probably make Okuyasu happy, so he placed it into his bag of gifts and resumed his journey forward.
Either Josuke was wrong, or Okuyasu was harder to please than Mikitaka thought, for while he appreciated and loved the gifts, nothing came from it besides a thank you. Two of the boxes of chocolates were devoured messily, leaving stains at the corners of Okuyasu’s mouth, and the flowers were snatched by Okuyasu’s father and torn apart or half-eaten, then spit out. The teddy bear was insulted, much to Mikitaka’s dismay. “What is this, it’s so girly,” Okuyasu said. He didn’t throw it out, but he set it on a desk in the corner that barely looked touched.
Mikitaka’s chin rested in his hand as he watched Okuyasu take a break from eating all the chocolate to play video games. They usually mesmerized him with their strange colors and coding and sound, but Mikitaka’s mind became a blurry world of doubt and confusion.
How do humans convey their emotions? he thought. How do I tell Okuyasu about the warm in my body when he’s here?
He couldn’t take his eyes off the chocolate mess around Okuyasu’s mouth. On a particularly hard battle, Okuyasu stuck his tongue out in the corner, brows furrowed as he concentrated on the task. Mikitaka grinned a little bit. He was so pleasing to look at.
“Okuyasu? May I ask you something?”
“Ah—hold on, this guy’s hard ta’ beat!” he said in that low, scruffy voice of his.
“Alright, Okuyasu.”
Mikitaka waited patiently for him to finish, switching back and forth from looking at the screen to Okuyasu’s intensely focused expressions. Tongue out, brows lifted, eyes squinted. Every single muscle in his face worked hard as if it would somehow help the fingers on his hands push the right buttons to defeat the enemy on screen.
When he lost, he huffed and dropped the controller carelessly onto the bed. He folded his arms and turned sideways, sitting cross-legged and hunched forward as he faced Mikitaka.
“So? What’s up, Mikitaka?”
But Mikitaka wasn’t sure what he wanted to ask him anymore. He was too distracted by Okuyasu’s puffed out bottom lip and his big wide eyes, and the broken scar tissue across his cheeks and nose.
“I do not remember, Okuyasu,” he said. “I apologize.”
“Huh? Okay… hey, why’re ya smiling so much, Mikitaka? Somethin’ good happen or somethin’?”
“Not particularly, no. But—ah, Okuyasu,” Mikitaka said, and before he knew it he was leaning forward with his arm outstretched, fingers brushing across the skin below Okuyasu’s lips. “You have chocolate... here.”
Mikitaka, dazed, pushed by a force that he’d never felt before, used his mouth instead of his hand to clean up Okuyasu’s mess. Their faces got closer until Mikitaka’s tongue poked out, dragging a long line of spit across the dried-up chocolate staining Okuyasu’s skin. He did the same thing on the other side before he pulled away and contemplated the flavor.
Good, but Okuyasu’s skin tasted better.
And Okuyasu thought so too, maybe, because he lunged forward and pressed their lips together in a short, badly timed kiss. He pulled back quickly and apologized, unable to look Mikitaka in the face as he scratched the back of his neck.
“Okuyasu,” Mikitaka said, “Your body language tells me you’re upset? Or perhaps embarrassed. But please do not be. I’d like you to do that again.”
“…you do?”
“Yes. I couldn’t figure out what exactly I wanted from you until just now, and I’d like if we could touch lips again.”
“Touch what? Oh—it’s a kiss, Mikitaka. It’s called a kiss.”
“Oh. Then may we kiss again?”
“Y-yeah.”
Okuyasu leaned forward, but slowly, and closed his eyes. Mikitaka did the same, though he would’ve preferred to keep his eyes open so he could observe Okuyasu throughout the kiss. He wanted it to be authentic, however, so he refrained from understanding the ‘kiss’ fully.
It was magnificent. It began very slow, with gentle touches here and there, a pecking type of motion. Okuyasu’s lips were a little chapped but Mikitaka found the rougher texture to be particularly pleasing on his mouth. It gave him tingles up his back that he had never experienced before.
Then Okuyasu parted his lips, just slightly, but enough for Mikitaka to notice. He copied him again, not knowing exactly what the purpose of it was until Okuyasu’s lips clamped over one of his and pulled on it. Mikitaka hummed and did the same thing, moving more roughly as they pushed back and forth on each other’s lips.
At some point Okuyasu’s wet tongue startled Mikitaka, trying to push into his mouth. He pulled back with a bit of a strange look, his head tilted to one side and eyebrows pinched forward.
“Shoot, was that too much?”
“I’m not sure. We can try again.”
Okuyasu swallowed, nodding. He moved closer to Mikitaka, but this time he combed his fingers in Mikitaka’s hair and tugged his head back, pushing his tongue between Mikitaka’s lips. Mikitaka took a chance and let him taste his mouth with their mouths wide open, and—oh—that felt nice. A bit messy, Mikitaka thought, wrapping his longer tongue around Okuyasu’s. But the sound Okuyasu made was worth it, reverberating down his throat to make his entire body shiver.
Mikitaka exhaled through his nose, swallowing a little to taste their spit. Okuyasu was breathing heavily and tugging harder on his hair, tilting his head more diagonally. It gave them both easier access into the other’s mouth; Mikitaka grabbed Okuyasu’s thigh and squeezed as he pushed their tongues around, feeling over Okuyasu’s smooth teeth and the flap underneath his tongue.
Okuyasu made another sound, this one higher pitched and more of a moan than a low grunt. It gave Mikitaka another shiver down his body, but he also felt warm, too warm, all in the pit of his stomach and lower groin area. Okuyasu had to pull away to catch his breath, though his face was still close enough for Mikitaka to observe. He ignored whatever disappointment he had about his warming body—he didn’t think they’d get to exploring it that night anyway, for some reason.
Mikitaka studied Okuyasu’s face in detail: his cheeks were bright red, neatly positioned in each half-diamond section of Okuyasu’s face, and his forehead shone with sweat. It dripped down his cheek, stopping at his jaw where Mikitaka caught it with his tongue. Salty.
But his eyes were the best part. Normally wide and excited, they were now closed halfway and darkly somber. His lips quivered as he chewed on them, completely unaware of Mikitaka’s analyzation of his expressions.
“Mikitaka…?”
“I didn’t know human spit could taste so delicious,” Mikitaka said. “It’s quite satisfying to the stomach. Would you care to share some more with me, Okuyasu?”
Okuyasu laughed, covering his face.
“Oh my god, Mikitaka, that’s so fuckin’ weird to say. But I guess you’re an alien so… yeah, sure. Let’s make out some more.”
“…what is ‘make out’?”
Okuyasu’s boner disappeared entirely. He guffawed and slapped his knee, then shook his head and said, “What we’ve been doin’, ya filthy animal.”
Luckily for both of them, it was relatively easy to get it back up, but Mikitaka didn’t want to discover too much too fast and opted not to see the bulging thing inside Okuyasu’s pants. Okuyasu understood and let them keep on with the kissing, enjoying it himself until they both got too tired and it took too much effort to keep kissing. They chose to lay down on Okuyasu’s bed and cuddle instead for the remainder of the day, another human thing that Mikitaka didn’t know about or understand.
But with the warm, strong arms around him and the cute, scarred face above him, Mikitaka could get used to these new human things. Affection, Okuyasu called it. Mikitaka wanted affection and who better to give it than Okuyasu?
