Clancy passed away peacefully in my arms today, surrounded by so much love and after only a few days of fighting and pain. I’m devastated but hanging in there. She was a teeny thing—the runt of the litter—topping out at 6.5 pounds and slimming down in these past golden years. I got her in Muncie in August 2001 when her mother (Shalon, 2000-2018) was living in an abandoned garage next to my apartment. After seeing my landlord abuse them, I took them in. Fast forward 13 moves across 3 states (including an interstate road trip) and nearly 20 years, Clancy’s age suddenly caught up with her. She will forever be my sweet baby girl, my little baby cat, my one and only Miss Clancyfancypants. I shall miss her split tan and grey nose, her freckles pink ears, her beautiful little muzzle, her stripey tail, and her outstretched paws as she slept on her heaty pad and in her hidey hole. She’ll forever remain in my heart. Please give your fur babies a squeeze and a skritch from me. No matter their age, it’s always too soon. I’m so grateful for the understanding and kindness of the staff at Madison Street Animal Hospital for their gentleness in her final days and over the years. #clancyfancypants #babycat #catsofinstagram #oldladycats (at Madison Street Animal Hospital) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_vq2N2FkYW4NsRO984dahPZ5W0Ac6N4_f4N_E0/?igshid=1m5x2a2cdan4v
