so, IN THEORY, that outlet is fine. The wider part is supposed to be neutral, i.e. there's no actual current behind that wire. The hot (there is electricity here) wire is the narrow one, and good news! You can't fit a USB-C plug in there!

Its just a little too narrow for me to fit this USB-C cable into. So, if it were on the other side, it'd be. Okay. Not good, as outlets get worn and there's not that much material that needs to be removed, but it'd be fine new. However: it does fit into the neutral.

now, granted, in 99% of cases. This is still okay. The actual prongs inside that make the connections are inset far enough that I don't feel them meeting the plug. It might be close enough to spark, but you aren't likely to electrocute yourself at least. Especially since there's no power here. Riiiight?

No! Of course not! Because most things don't actually care! Unless the plug is polarized, ie one prong is fatter, most shit doesn't care where its getting its hot and were it's getting its neutral. Or at least that's the way it used to be. Long explanation made so short you lose a lot of information, sometimes these outlets are wired in reverse, ie the part that's not supposed to have any electricity behind it does. This still sometimes doesn't matter (electronics are getting more touchy, but sometimes it still just wouldn't care still outside of occasional inexplicable errors) but in this specific scenario, now the metal outside part of the plug might be live. This is, for your phone, absolutely 100% not supposed to have any electricity on it, that isn't neutral, that is ground. Best case, nothing happens. Bad case, it sparks or makes contact and you get a bad shock off the other end. Worst case, it sparks or makes contact and blows up your phone irreparably (120v AC directly to ground is: Bad.)

TL;DR, in theory it's totally fine, but there's so many things that have to go just a little bit wrong for something bad to happen.

i think my one hangup is that they're pretty consistently portrayed as the non-sapient variety of funnie dog, the only 'exceptions' being them sometimes having translated dialogue in stuff like Mario Party

and also the fact Chomp Country, a pair of red chain chomps, are some of the highest-ranked fighters in the major league of the Glitz Pit

not too sure about that second one actually being an exception though. i think Grubba might just be fucked up enough to let his dogs bite the wrestlers on-stage
