This party was weird. Was Jacqui reading into it too much, letting the energy from her conversation with Charlie and Jesse color the rest of the evening? Quite possibly. But even still, she couldn't help but feel like it was a bad omen heading into the year to come, a sure sign that things would not be getting better once the clock struck midnight. So, naturally, Jacqui did the one thing they knew would make things better, determined not to enter the new year with such negative reminiscing of the past lingering over though - they sought out Ollie.
A flute of champagne in each hand, they appeared beside him and held one out to him, a smile on Jacqui's face. "Any last minute to do's for 2023?" she asked, sipping from her glass as she waited for Ollie to answer. Well, really more guzzling from in, downing half of it before even taking a breath.
