I am! I’ll be moving it to the CoG demos website when I get back from work today; or when I have a moment with my laptop sometime during the day. I’ll be making a post when I do so as I don’t want all of you to worry about that in the slightest.

What's your favorite book in tlt? I know Gideon is the popular choice but it's my least favorite of the series. For me it's Harrow followed (very closely) by Nona! I really enjoy the second person in Harrow as well as the humor and the sheer amount of great lines. Yeah!

its nona then harrow then gideon. i enjoy nontraditional book structures but find nonas perspective the most charming of the three and the most rewarding to reread. gtns great but there's a lot of "dead air" as gideon doesnt really give a shit about anything happening till the first bodies are found, and even then it kind of lacks in urgency

know how people say mantis shrimp see more colors than we do because they have like 16 color receptors and we have 3? thats not true their eyes just work different. our eyes send information to our brain and then our brain interprets it into colors but thats not practical for shrimp whose brains are very tiny. they need a faster way to tell the difference between a blue fish (tasty) and a red fish (would kill you), so each photoreceptor of the mantis shrimp picks up a different color by itself with little to no brainpower used. its more straightforward and quicker but they can't differentiate between shades as well as we can. if their eyes worked like ours did they would be able to distinguish shades very very close together.i think between wavelengths 1-5 nanometers apart. tldr: mantis shrimp actually see less color than we do they just see it faster using less brainpower (from my understanding of the articles i read)
