Just wanted to share that the last morning of the Chalk Walk I thought I was going to have to do some serious repair work on my piece, but even with rain getting under my overnight tarp, my drawing barely had anything wrong with it. I only had to touch up some small drips and faded spots - It was a chalk art miracle! 😃And the Chalk Walk is over now, and it has since rained again, but this piece still looks sort of ok. Smeared a little more without a tarp protecting it, but it's going to take a big storm to wash it all off the board. I'm not really a chalk artist, other than a couple 4H chalk festivals (years ago), but I found out that the chalkboard outside of ART247 needed an artist for the local chalk walk, so I jumped in. I had to wear a mask half the time, but it was so nice being able to go out and be an artist in person again. 😊 ~ And some of the girls came along to pose by my finished piece so we could share it with you! . . Unfortunately, after taking this photo, it began to rain and we had to throw a tarp over the mural. Then the rain stopped, so we pulled the tarp down and a few families passing by got to see it, but then not long after a very ominous cloud rolled in causing other artists to pull tarps over their work, so I too covered my piece again,...And then came the downpour. The rain lasted for hours and did do some damage to my pretty chalk art. We'll see how bad it is on day two of the chalk walk.
