Sera Karan / 30 / Capo / Kovali / Co-Owner of Purgatory
Born and bred in a small fishing village on the cape between Turkey and the Grecian Islands, she was the eldest of six children in a very poor family.
Twelve years ago, her parents basically sold Sera and her sister Azra (The Forgotten) to a mail order brides company, however it turned out to actually be a Kovali operation.
Upon arriving in Chicago, she and her sister worked in a brothel for about 6 months before they were separated when Azra was taken to a new one opening up across the city. Both girls just assumed the other died at some point bc the conditions were so rough.
Sera lashed out as a result of being separated from her only family and attacked a guard in front of Zephyr (The Cataclysmic) who was already a high ranking member of the Kovali and making rounds at the time.
He saw potential in her and offered her freedom, basically pulled her out of the situation to take her under his wing as his second and has always kept her close ever since.
She’s worked her way up through the Kovali quite fluidly, both in an effort to make Zephyr proud and because there is nothing else for her other than this new life.
Has absolutely no idea that her younger sister is still alive, it’s information which Zephyr, The Coward, and eventually Cassidy (The Survivor) will all be keeping from her for their own various reasons.
Probably the most amicable capo, but do not cross her and do not stand in her way. She’s stepped on throats in her climb to the top and she’ll crush yours just as quickly.
