Hey there! After my question last week, I was finally convinced to get a Wacom tablet and get into digital art! Do you have any tips? I was reasonably well with traditional art, but so far with digital, my main problems are making what I do look clean, so any advice with that would be appreciated!
Nice! Congrats on the tablet. :3 Jumping from traditional to digital tablet can be tricky. It takes a while to get used to the feel and coordination required to use the tablet. I did the same thing about.... 5-6 years ago. Got a tablet to try out digital drawing.
My best advice to you as someone who's just getting started with the tablet is to just sketch and sketch and sketch. Get used to the feel of the tablet and the pen pressure. Then play with different brushes if you want, find out what your favorite brushes are, find the program you like best, etc. Once you're accustomed to the work and feel of a pen tablet, you can start to fine-tune your technique and preferred style. :3
Another tip I have is for making smoother lines. I know a lot of people have trouble making smooth lines for a line art with a tablet when they're starting off (I sure did). The key isn't to move the pen firm and slow. You have to really go for it and make fluid, quick strokes with the pen. If you don't like the line you made, CTRL-Z. Or if you don't like that, then reshape your lines with the eraser tool. :3
That's all I can really think of for now.... Sketch a lot, find your preferred brushes, fine-tune. But if you have any other questions, feel free to ask anytime. xD I hope this helps a bit.
