All-New, All Different Avengers #9

This may say it’s the start of a new story arc, but that still doesn’t keep this from being a short and sweet story introducing the new Wasp into the All-New, All Differenet Avengers dynamic! I wish I had picked this up when it first came out, not just because of that amazing Alex Ross cover, but because I was curious about this new Wasp and could add this one-shot comic to my collection! I checked it out on Marvel Unlimited, though for all I know my LCS might still have one in the stacks... It’s a fun story that lets all the characters have their turn in the spotlight.

Welcome to One-Shot Comics!

If you're like me, you relish a great one-and-done comic issue. Sure, a sweeping narrative over six issues can really tell a deep and powerful story, but a quick story can be equally fun and show off certain characters a bit more.

Sometimes those single-issue stories are obvious, and sometimes it is hard to tell if it will leave you on a cliffhanger. Even some annuals are notorious for being the first or last chapter in an epic story (which negates the point of an annual in my opinion). But when one of those short and sweet stories are found, it can be a comic worth rereading and sharing without any other prep required.

I'll be blogging about some of my favorite one-shot comics I've found, as well as making note of other one-shots out there that might be of interest. I certainly can not cover them all, so feel free to drop me a tip about new releases on the shelves or some oldies but goodies in the back-issue bin!
