Artist Spotlight: Theadora Frost
“My paintings straddle the line between recognizable and abstraction, allowing the subject to be distorted but not completely divorced from its origin.”
“In my paintings I am creating rhythm and movement. Currently, I am fascinated by reflections, shadows, figures, and water. I am also inspired by organic shapes and contained spaces such as stadiums or arenas. Whether the paintings are influenced by spontaneity, a sequence of video stills or the repetition of waves, I am depicting fluidity as well as tension. In my most recent series, “Swimmer's Witness” I explore ideas such as the reflection as an extension of ourselves as well as a separate being. My paintings straddle the line between recognizable and abstraction, allowing the subject to be distorted but not completely divorced from its origin. Painting allows me the freedom to constantly change, be aggressive and sensitive, connected and detached all at the same time.”
About Theadora: Theadora Frost was born and raised in New York. She began her understudies at Maryland Institute College of Art. She also spent time studying at Paris College of Art. In Paris she was part of a group exhibition at The Brooklyn. Theadora has her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Portland State University, where she currently lives and works. In the past year her work has been shown at the PSU School of Art + Design Scholarship Exhibition, Autzen Gallery (Portland, OR) and Silas Marder Gallery (Bridgehampton, NY).

Artist Spotlight: Tiffany Evans
“My work is inspired by the beauty that is my every day, past and present.”
“I live life with an appreciation of its simplest pleasures, my inspirations. Pink hues of a Summer sunset, bees pollinating pastel flowers in Spring and vivid reds in Fall’s leaves… But yet even in the dirtiest places of the city, I find beauty. I find beauty in hand painted signs, deteriorating abandoned buildings or graffiti-filled alleys covered in trash.
And whether my art is on a wall or canvas, on a computer screen or sewn on a hat, regardless of the medium, my work is inspired by the beauty that is my every day, past and present.”
About Tiffany: Tiffany Evans is a multimedia graphic artist and brand designer. Her work, both tactile and digital, are inspired by her roots in graffiti and passion for color. Tiffany is currently studying Graphic Design at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, and holds a BA in Journalism & Public Relations from California State University Long Beach.
