I saw your post from January where you mentioned Cushing being a suspected queer person in the tags, I’m very intrigued to know why that is. Is it that he might have been asexual? Otherwise the only thing that comes to mind is when he mentions in his first memoir that he was in love with Peter Pan as a young boy, and although Pan was always played by a girl on stage where he saw it, he did not know the difference between the majority of men and women until his brother taught him some time later.

i realize a lot of it is probably wish fulfillment- but from the outside looking in, it just seems like a lot of little things that add up- being raised as a girl. the apparent (disinterest?) in sexuality. his hyper-empathy. his lack of machismo, his comfort in proximity of women, his extremely close friendships with men. idk just stuff like that.

i know those arent indicators of anything and i know theres more and better examples but i cant remember em right now. 😭

anyway, i was just kinda grousing that day about the idea of not being able to know these tidbits of peoples' lives. granted i know its none of my business but if he were, then that kind of revisionist history sucks, you know? 

i'm not a very big fan of his late in life caretakers the broughtons, so in my biased mind i find it plausible that any memorabilia hinting to cush being anything other than straight might have been buried.

i guess the most agonizing thing is that we cant (or will never) have the luxury of knowing, so all we have is wishful thinking. 🤷‍♂️ idk

Have you ever seen the movie Prizzi’s Honor, where William Hickey plays a major villainous mafia Don character? I highly recommend Dr. Finkelstein fans watch this because his performance is so strange but also creepy, he looks and sounds like a guy who was dug up from a grave, reanimated and dressed up, it’s almost like he’s in a different movie from the rest of the cast who are in a mostly grounded mafia movie lol.

Never heard of that one, but I love watching movies with William Hickey! He has such a recognizable voice and face. I'll try and remember to watch this one!

Have you ever seen Dan Aykroyd’s movie Nothing but Trouble? It’s basically Aykroyd getting to do whatever and throw everything at the wall. Ghostbusters turned all the way up past 11. It’s got that 90’s grossout energy lol. Me and dad tried watching it but we weren’t vibing with it so we stopped watching after a while.

I've never watched it in full but I saw the clip where Dan's nose turns into a dick and it scared me. 0_o

I went looking for Skimble/Gus Jr. stuff here on Tumblr after getting fully on-board with Cats recently (before I was only a casual fan) after noticing Gus Jr’s absolute heart eyes he makes during Skimble’s song and your writings for the two watered my crops and cleared my skin, and along the way you helped me see that Jenny/Jelly and Demelonzostrap are also peak (I do still like Demelurina too tho). Theres not as much stuff made for the oldie pairings though, someday maybe I’ll have to create what I want to see more of looooool

Welcome, my friend, to this corner of the CATS fandom! Sometimes in fandom you have to be the change you want to see in the world, and since the oldie squad were always my favourites, I figured what better way to use my blog than to do just that. Demelonzostrap is a fun bonus you get with my crowd of senior citizens 😆

Please do make your own stuff for the oldies! I always encourage that! Can't have more content unless people dedicate themselves to making it.

You ever heard of a town in Georgia called Savannah? It would be a cool GB setting if it hasn’t been done in any comics yet. It’s got pirate stuff in it and it looks gorgeous.

I don't believe Savannah, Georgia has been used as a setting in any Ghostbusters media yet, but it's been a while since I read the comics so perhaps I forgot.

To be honest, I've lost a lot of interest in the franchise as of late and I don't plan on writing any more Ghostbusters related stories in the future. However, if I ever decide to further expand on my original fictional universe, I'll keep that location in mind...

What media are you looking forward to this year like books, movies, games, etc?

I’m really excited for Okami 2! The original is my favorite game of all time and the sequel looks beautiful.

Other than that, there isn’t really any new media I’m aware of that looks interesting, but I’ll be happy to be surprised. I am also going to try and get into the Warhammer 40K franchise and play more shooter games.
