What inspired you to write the" A Small Favor" Story? Like did anything spark it? Was it an idea you'd been developing mentally over time? How did the magic all start? :)

There were a few things that inspired me.

First was the short story of Doctor Noah Lyons. I just loved the idea of a well mannered Doctor going out of his way to take care of someone.

Second was the Taken series. Incredibly well written, and I found myself enjoying the darker side of cardiophilia. In a similar vein, I was also inspired by the Basement series.

Out of boredom, I wrote answers for the “Send me a number - Cardiophile asks” post, which you can find here, and I got carried away with writing a fantasy that I had, from playing on a patient simulator app called “LIFE” (by Thix).

Soon after, I was drafting an idea for a story, and before I knew it, I had the prologue and part of chapter one done. I was nervous however, and didn’t know if I should post the story, because I was already comparing it to my inspirations, but @resus-girl was very kind in giving me the confidence boost that I needed to post it. 🥰

Me, planning chapters for “A Second Date”, as well as oneshot fics surrounding Grace and Matthew’s relationship, and a fic or two based off of a message that a follower sent me.

Also me: Yes, this is good.

My brain, with no consideration for my workload: Make it a trilogy! *Mumbling pictures of ideas*

Me: No, stop that.

My heart, that knows that a third part to the series would be fun to write: DOOOOO IT

My head and heart, chanting: DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT.

Me: Welp, guess it’s gonna be a trilogy.

Character Designs, ya’ll!

Ok, I was fiddling around on Artbreeder, which was recommended to me by my best friend, who is also a fellow writer using it to design characters.

It’s an interesting AI program. You can create portraits, anime, landscapes, even furry art. One of the features allows you to combine two source images together, which is useful if you want to create character designs for a family and you need the resemblance between them.

So without further ado, here’s my character designs for Grace and Matthew, respectively;

I would just like to say thank you to everyone who kindly supported me as I wrote “A Small Favour”.

I’m going to write a second but smaller sequel, called “A Second Date”, so watch out for that!

I also aim to do a “Life of a cardiophile couple” series where each chapter is just a oneshot fic in the lives of Grace and Matthew.

I want to also do art based off of “A Small Favour”, and I have already been doing character designs on Artbreeder, a website where you can design characters with the use of AI.
