We created this bundle to raise funds for Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota in response to the Trump administration sending ICE agents to the Minneapolis area and the reckless murder of an innocent people by ICE agents. ILCM provides free immigration legal representation to low-income immigrants and refugees in Minnesota and North Dakota. They also work to educate the community about immigration matters and advocates for public policies which respect the universal human rights of immigrants. ILCM provides services based on capacity and has a generally high demand for services. The more we are able to fundraise, the more people they will be able to assist.

“hold him close” Old clothes, a used chest binder, embroidery, foam, and polyfill. "Hold Him Close is an interactive textile portrait of my teenage self, illustrated through my old clothes. I came out as transgender at 17, with minimal support from my community. Transgender youth are susceptible to higher chances of bullying, mental health decline, and suicide attempts. As I struggled with these common issues, clothing was one of my only comforts. I wore my first chest binder daily for hours, resulting in stained fabric and amateur repairs. This binder dresses the bust, which is made of other gender affirming clothes from my youth. Using these clothes as the skin of the figure illustrates how clothes are essential to the creation of trans identities. Hold Him Close asks the viewer to engage with the piece by hugging the bust. Hugging is a simple action, but it increases intimacy and community. Supporting transgender youth is as easy as providing comfort through these basic actions. Watching viewers interact with this piece heals my inner self, knowing he’s receiving the love I desperately needed. With Hold Him Close, I hope that it’s not only an example of the importance of gender affirming care and community, but also a symbol of hope for queer kids today. I’ve gone years believing that my life would end before I could live freely. Now, I can’t wait to grow old in my queer identity." - @mjthebug / @little-bug-man
