I'm the way home from the fight and I'm listening to @1067thefan and for the life of my I can't remember the name of the show that was on at the time, but the host noted that @nfl ratings are down 14%. According to @bloomberg news, TV execs attribute the decline to Hurricane Harvey and Ivey. While there is some truth to that, I can't help but think there is more to the drop of @nfl viewership than national disasters. For starters, quality of play! Maybe it's just me, but the competitive nature and excitement level of @ncaasports football has outclassed the @nfl since 2004. Face it...THE MILK'S GONE BAD CHARLIE MURPHY!!!( #RestEasyCharlieMurphy )Then there's the @kaepernick7 support that many fans have taken as a result of him being blackballed/exiled for taking a stance against the injustices that plague this country. Will @nfl ratings see a surge as hurricane coverage dwindles, that remains to be seen. What we can't do is ignore the league's deficiencies. Yes, the @nfl remains king in professional sports, but it'll take more than the silencing of weather coverage to recovering from its declination in ratings. Please feel free to address any comments, questions or concerns to me directly or my podcast, @ribradio2017.
