It wasn’t like he did it on purpose. Well, maybe he did, but Tyler never meant ill will. The worst and best thing about being the youngest body working for the NYPD was the fact that he was overlooked a lot. Yes, Tyler was the younger brother to Thomas Maddox which made him already known amongst his coworkers, but that only meant they knew him as a kid. It didn’t help that his job was lax, nothing like the men and women that put their lives on the line as uniformed cops that patrolled on the daily or the detectives hard at work to catch and have a solid conviction on the bad people that roamed the streets.
Honestly, Tyler was happy to help by being a coffee runner for the plained clothed officers that needed to spend their time focused on cases, not spending their time in line at a coffee shop. However, if Tyler just so happened to accidentally spend more than two hours away from the precinct while on said coffee run, that was fine too. It wasn’t like there was much for him to do. Plus, he always made sure to come back with the coffee still hot. He was irresponsible, but he wasn’t an idiot. Tyler would always come back with more than what was asked anyway.
He dropped off his brother’s order on his desk, not bothered enough to go look for him because there was someone who was at her desk. Brown bag hanging on his fingers by its handles and last coffee cup in hand, Tyler walked over, letting dropped the bag onto Andy’s desk and holding out the coffee cup for her to take. “Drink,” he said, not even batting an eyelash about how he was basically giving his superior an order. “Eat” was followed, pointing to the bag. Inside was a fresh sandwich from the deli. Not like the pastries, he’d usually get her from the shop in the morning on his way in, but Tyler just knew. From observation and just talking to Andy since he’s started, Tyler knew about her eating habits, or rather, lack of. “It’s pastrami and it’s fresh. I even got you a fresh bag of gummy bears so eat and the words will start making sense again.”
