Do you really believe your words hold any value to me?
Makima cherishes hearing herself speak more than anything , or anyone else . Quanxi's words will fall flat . She knows this , expects this ... slim chance Makima's refusal will sway her , though . She doesn't understand Makima's fixation with her — beyond knowing she , as hybrid , is a tool to be used , the twisted adoration conquest has towards her is lost on Quanxi .
Devils are not creatures of love , only sin . What remains of her own humanity drives her beating heart , but there is a hole where Makima's should be . A void desperate to consume .
Seems unlikely she'd consider channeling that hunger towards something else ; no matter how much or how many she may control , there will always be a persistent gnawing . Maybe they're not so different , in that way . Quanxi craves a simple life , one denied persistently by public safety .
For Makima ... was it once the same ?
' Not really . Not very good at talking , so ... not very convincing . '
She shifts her weight between legs , rubs a palm against the fabric of her pants before thumb finds her belt .
' Just expected you'd get bored of the bullshit by now . That's what your relationships are built off of , right ... ? '
