tbh puck & iago's nicknames ( dandelion & clover, respectively ) are really ironic. i don't think carol & i meant for that to happen when we chose them. they were just cute lil nicknames we decided their parents used to call them. but if you think about it too hard ( which i love to do with bhaaltwins ) , it's kind of upsetting. like dandelions being associated with transformation is really quite unfortunate when puck does, in fact, transform into a giant monster that tries to kill his twin. among other things... & clovers being associated with luck? like with four-leaf clovers?? when iago is literally the most unlucky bastard in the entire world. y'know cuz their twin turns into a giant monster that tries to kill them. among other horrors...
REAL he has anxiety and he’s less clumsy but he still drops stuff and he gets visibly uncomfortable whenever he drops something. He drops a vial that’s just water without any chemicals yet and jumps a mile in the air
He's pouring some water and something startles him so he spills it everywhere then has a complete panic-induced breakdown remembering that one time it wasn't just water.
Even with how good things are, and the friends he makes, and the people he has, it always haunts him that he himself could be the reason that all gets lost.
Varian, appearance-wise, is extremely unassuming and I think that terrifies him. A big part of him is scared of himself. He's caused deaths before. Accidents, of course, but still. He's caused the loss of a human life more than once. Then on top of that, in his fit of absolute rage, pain, and hurt, he almost did what he, at the time thought, would intentionally cause the death of the queen. He almost intentionally killed another person. He was prepared to do so, and was capable of doing so.
But Varian is small, even when he gets older, he still has a youthful face and a big smile. He's not a rugged criminal. No stranger would assume what he'd been capable of when he was only 14 years old. Knowing that no one can see the terrible, terrible things he was capable of absolutely terrifies him.
