Today's Public Domain Character: Garfield

Now, some caveats no the current iteration of Garfield is not public domain, that belongs to Paws Inc (subsidiary of Nickolodeon). However much like with Mickey Mouse the first iteration of Garfield is public domain, shown above.

As you may remember, youtuber Quinton Reviews uncovered a comic strip that predates Garfield called Jon about Jon's life but Garfield was also a character in it.

The scans show that in 1976 these strips were published without copyright notice which prior to 1978 was required for a work to be copyrighted in the United States.

Now Garfield is also a trademark so I wouldn't go call your Garfield comic that if you intend to sell it, but you can use Garfield either as he appears here or ya know, make it a jumping off point to redesign him as we've seen people redesign Mickey Mouse.

The witch does not have a design yet. If I were to animate this (I don'tk now how, lol), I would have it so that we never see the witch's face, only their hands, legs, clothes, ect.

You guys can enter for any if them whenever you like. But it's always sooner the better. I will post updates for when like when a design s closing, but that probably won't be for a while. //so i’ve done a little editing to lucinda/lucie for next gen - i’m using stassie for her again, so! anyway, nadine and i were briefly talking about plots seeing as lucie and dixie both go to rosewell and study fashion, then i figured we could do a skeleton friendship group using fcs from kylie/stassies friendship group for next gen! these are all brief bios and ideas for anyone who might want to pick one up! don’t feel you have to. however, there’s enough for every roleplayer to take one! you can make them someones child or maybe figure it out later!

IDEA: a group of fashion students living in paris who’re just trying to figure shit out. they all got assigned the same 2 or 3 rooms which is how they know eachother. it could be as messy as it is friendly bc lowkey they’re all in competition sometimes! they own the parisian version of the insider (blog to be made) and it mainly picks apart peoples looks at events, but gossip too.
