Top 5 Favorite Operas Performances - Operabase

Here is the list of my Top 5 favorite operas performances.

●         La Traviata- La Traviata is an Italian opera performance that is divided into three parts was started by an Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi. La Traviata premiered in Venice in 1853. La Traviata means “the one who goes astray” or “the fallen woman” and this refers to the main character, Violetta Valéry.

●         Carmen, by Bizet-Carmen, is one of the oldest and greatest operas of all time. Carmen is an opera in four acts by French composer Georges Bizet. Carmen has everything you want from an opera: great melodies, high intense dramatics, passionate personalities, and a fine love story. Carmen is an example for opéra-comique, a style of French opera which shows not necessarily comic but highlighting both spoken dialogue and the sung parts.

●         Die Zauberflöte(The Magic Flute) - The Magic Flute is an opera performance distributed in two parts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to a German libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder. The show premiered in the 1791 year.

●         La bohème - La bohème is an opera performance that is divided into four acts, composed by Giacomo Puccini between 1893 and 1895. It also consists of a tragic love story the opera is sung in Italian.

●   Tosca, by Puccini- Tosca is an opera show distributed in the three acts by Giacomo Puccini to an Italian opera by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. Tosca premiered at the Theater Costanzi in Rome in the year 1900.
