Cethosia penthesilea, “Plain/Orange Lacewing”

Lepidoptera study - 29/12/20 - Cethosia penthesilea, “Orange Lacewing” Superfamily Papilionoidea; Family Nymphalidae; Subfamily Heliconiinae
Personally, the underside is much prettier than the upper wing patterns, but that’s just my opinion. I believe those patterns work like dazzle paints, to confuse and disorientate predators, but they may also be a form of natural camouflage.
The caterpillars have yet to be photographed, but their images can be found in the source below, along with their chrysalises (which seem to mimicking bird droppings BTW).

The caterpillars feed on the leaves, fruit, and stems of
Adenia heterophylla “Lacewing Vine”
The eggs are typically laid in clusters on the stem of the vine.
Outside Australia this species is found in:
Bali
Malaysia
Singapore
Sumatra
Thailand
