In order to order the order of things
I would like to start with a deep disclaimer....
Chronological order may not be my strong suit. I tried to journal in honor of my Great Aunt Jean and Delia, a year or so ago. By journaling I don't mean writing down all of your deepest and darkest secrets into a tome but rather, cataloguing the events of a given day. My two aunts have impressive collections of journals dating back to the 70's for sure and maybe even earlier. When you go to visit them and there is a family dispute as to what might have happened when, these lovely ladies can pull out a book and set you straight.
The point is a few sentences that capture the day. It isn't about too deep a reflection on said events.
I love facts. I love personal trivia about people and the cataloguing of likes and dislikes and loves and losses and small things that mean so much and big things that are little measurements of time in our lives and scars and broken bones. (there is always a good/silly/foolish/skin crawling good story to go with scars/broken bones.) With my interest in these kinds of tidbits and treats of knowledge and my surprisingly solid selective memory, you'd think chronological organization might be my jam. It is not.
For those that might appreciate knowing things in the right order, I'd like to provide a guide that you can cross-reference as you dig into the copious "make-up" blogging that is about to commence.
