Walking along the Oregon Coast
Before the storm…
I've been in Oregon roughly 36 hours and in that time I've seen rain, snow, rain and snow, more rain, sleet, snow that quickly became sleet, more rain, mist, sun showers, sun snowshowers, rain blowing sideways, sleet blowing sideways, snow blowing sideways, five minutes of sun without any rain and thunder-wintry-mix.
A snow shower blew in out of nowhere the minute we got to the Columbia Gorge.
Oregon Weather Today, Friday, January 9, 2026: A beautiful week, but watch for dangerous sneaker waves on the Oregon coast
🌞
Forecasters are predicting high temperatures in the 50s throughout the next week, with lows in the 30s but above freezing, and overall a beautiful week in most cities!
If you're heading to the beach, watch out for sneaker waves! Make sure you bring life jackets and supervise the kiddles.
Dangerous sneaker waves and riptides are not new to Oregon, but they can be life-threatening, even to adults and strong swimmers.
You can learn more about sneaker waves and riptides online.
