For the most part, Ravus isn’t as much of a gourmet as people would be led to believe. What is often forgotten is that, even though House Fleuret is technically an old and established house, Niflheim encroached and has controlled the region outside of Fenestala for the past four hundred years. And Sylva, not one to be vain or materialistic, has never once spent in excess simply so that they could live in the lap of luxury. Instead, she was frugal, but ensured that her people still had measures of security they could afford despite their GDP being leeched considerably by Niflheim. Therefore, Ravus was never much of a gourmet. While he surely knows his way around food, he and his sisters are used to a plain and simple diet that never truly traversed into realms of excess. Ravus, especially, has always been a hardened military man used to fighting on the battlefield with his men. This includes camping with them, too, and dining rather plainly. Consuming foodstuffs that came in the form of freeze-dry or powdered or dried rations and the like, of which would be impractical to be picky given how life in the trenches truly was. Because of this, Ravus has gone through long intervals where he’s unused to eating “normal” food, let alone gourmet that is often requisite at state function. Granted, he’s no buffoon when it comes to etiquette requisite of fine dining, but doesn’t have much of an appetite for foods that are too rich.He does like his sweets, however. Provided they’re simple and rather plain, and it would be advisable to clearly mark chocolate as one’s own lest he claim it for himself.
