haven’t drawn anything new since finishing infinite jest but i do have sketches from while i was finishing up…

i tried to doodle mario, too ! i think his appearance is too extreme in the book to border on anything realistic so i just did my best. idk, i just imagine him as a normal person for the most part, except that he looks kinda like a kid at least in my sketch on account of his larger head etc.

and ortho stice with his squarish jaw and short cropped hair. recently watched animal house and thought neidermeyer bore a resemblance to my imagination.

So at first I was like 'dang this Devilman thing must be some sort of phase' but eventually I caved and read it all and !! the ending upset me but everything was so funny and I feel like my eyes have been opened because it really has influenced practically every anime I've ever watched. Bless u for showing me the Dante's Inferno of manga uwu

ahhhh i'm glad to hear!! :D:D your feelings sound similar to mine. IT REALLY IS COOL SEEING HOW MUCH IT INFLUENCED THINGS i only listed a few in that guide i wrote but it's really like....... japanese media in GENERAL pretty much. devilman surrounds us everywhere. if you want more i totally recommend reading the side stories and maybe the sequels.

P.S. FUN FACT no nagai, the mangaka of devilman, actually did make a manga of dante's inferno lamo i haven't read it yet but here it is. this dude really loves dante's inferno.
