I am Numb
Harley had no heart left. Each night she would dream of Joker's return. He walked in like some heavenly angel, her demon, her knight in purple pinstripes, and cherub curls of green. The dreams then stopped and all she would wake to was the cold reality of seeing ice and bitter winter. It was driving her mad. She needed love in her life. Not what Oswald had given her. Why should he care to loose her.
Some would have said the little clown had come to the end of sanity. She was willing to give her life away for fake happiness. Goodness knows she had liked Jervis in the past. He was her consort, her friend. She never could be his Alice, not unless she was willing to give up her mind. As a puppet to his every whim at least he would love her, and if she failed, he would still love her enough to hold her in death. Oswald had made her a puppet too but he neglected his doll to where the cracks began to grow.
Making plans she went to see Jervis. She was numb... but she knew in a minute she would never feel pain again.
" Take me ta' Wonda' land. I look forward ta' our tea parties. 'En I promise I will do my best. There is no reason fa' us to be alone," she all but cried as she looked deeply into her friends eyes and then back at his machine.
