I love your clexa kiss analysis, you really put into words what I was thinking. And in light of the new clip of them preparing for battle, we can see even more how much Lexa sees herself in Clarke.
I'm glad I could be of service!
The fact is: They're both leaders, they're both charged with protecting a huge amount of people at a very young age, they both didn't necessarily CHOOSE this burden.
Lexa is a believer in reincarnation of spirit and the idea that said spirit chooses a successor. Therefore, it's very likely that she was chosen at a very young age and was thus forced to grow up and learn all the lessons that Clarke is learning now.
Clarke may not have outright CHOSEN to be leader in her own mind. But the fact is, she moved in the circles necessary for her to become the person that her people need.
The burden of sacrifice is heavy and unavoidable in her current climate. Unlike Bellamy, she's not PLAYING at being leader ( For all of his gesturing and all of his motivational speeches, he's much more suited to leading small groups than masses of people, as shown with his interaction with Sterling and Monroe. His version of "leadership" was unorganized, rebellion driven chaos + tyranny with barely contained armed thugs to back him up. )
Like it or lump it, I think there's a lot of growth that's gonna happen between Lexa and Clarke and I honestly don't think Lexa's gonna die this season. It'd be too obvious, it'd set back all the growth that's happened so far and it'd simultaneously isolate Clarke COMPLETELY from everyone else. She'd lose the one person who TRULY understands her plight, and I'm not sure how well she'd recover from such a loss on top of everything else that's happened this season.
Idk, maybe I'm being optimistic, but...
