Hello! What is known about shifters? Are myths anything relevant to go by? I don't remember where it was exactly but I remember reading in some myths (likely indian) about a group of people (that had a lion's head or body? or something like that, called yellow/golden men...? I'm not sure) that lived in a specific region, are those the beings you've mentioned? Does it include beings like kitsune and nagas as well?
Hello :) Shifters were a distinct race, able to shape-shift. Most were humanoid with certain animal species appearing most commonly. Werebears, werewolves, werepanthers/lions and many more were known in the distant past. They lived all over the world, in tribes and had their own customs and deities. Nowadays when I refer to shifters, I refer to humans with a shifter core. This is because all non-human species eventually ended up reincarnating within human bodies after the latest apocalyptic war with the False God. Nagas are certainly able to shape-shift, but typically they would be Modulators, which is a species that assisted the evolution of other life forms, primarily in the Sea. Kitsune existed, but I wouldn't call them exactly the same as the other two I mentioned. They could shape-shift as well.
