i watched dandadan, and i enjoyed it, and i have many little thoughts, but the first and foremost one is a "two nickles" joke about occult (especially alien) loving dweebs who keep pulling girls they're not interested in with the 'tis rizz
#it's weird that it happened twice! i don't consider myself an anime guy! i don't watch enough for this to have happened twice!#at least okarun has the decency to actually like one of them back. and recognize when it's otherwise happening#fuyuki's head is genuinely too full of aliens to realize anything isn't platonic. he loves all his friends so much :)#hush me#OTHER THOUGHTS INCLUDE:#- thank you god for the granny yuri opportunity (even if they're too cowardly to make one of them actually look old)#(and made the other one STOP looking old and START looking like a little cat)#- relatedly: in middle school i was into bleach and i DO consider this a cosmic apology for that shitass teddy bear character#- there was a short period where 100% of the ghosts were women and 100% of the aliens were men#and the protags got their powers/unlocked their powers because of the ''opposite'' gendered occult thing#and so in that time they basically forced my hand. it's a t4t show now. sorry liberals#- i thought the horror tag was understated/mostly aesthetics until the maid cafe episode. holy shit. the sheer second hand embarrassment.#- because of my life i am EXTREMELY susceptible to ''friends who like each other but also *highly* value their friendship'' romance stories#and the scene in the car was high art. everyone take notes#- the music during the fights was good every time#- FINALLY i have a relatable king who is also bad at listening to music#- i still have nine so/ls brain and if i could draw i would 100% make an animatic of the first ending but with Yi#- this show gave me the first urge in a LONG time to make gifs again. fortunately i'm stuck away from my PC taking care of my post op mom#- Lastly: um. giggling and twirling my hair at when he challenged the evil eye and went so hard he became a black blob of animation#i'm a sucker for that sort of style choice#- wait i lied. the actual last one is how it's WILD turbo granny decided to sit on his back for that fight. she didn't even say anything!#just full solidarity with showing off how cool her powers can be if utilized better lmao
