now im intrigued… who are the protagonists of your ww1 OCs?
ouu perchance i worded my response to ur comment wrong, because the post you asked it under actually includes almost all of the most important characters to the story, but here's the main list
🥇tobias: main protagonist, pov character, medic, get him the HELL out of there!!!
🥈vogel: he and tobias are locked IN. in the original version of this story, he tobias and jónás were in a fucked up love triangle from hell before both vogel and jónás died.
🥉jónás: tobias's close friend and platoon lieutenant, pretty important to the story but not around much. wouldn't exactly call him a protagonist.
bartos: another friend, he's a soldier, he's a sweetheart and keeps the injured soldiers company while tobias is busy. unfortunately, they usually can't immediately transport the wounded back to battalion hq because of support lines being cut. we see the most of him and vogel through the story.
vass: antagonist, not a villain, but he's such a fucking asshole. unfortunately he outlives a lot of the original squad and is important to the story as a result.
babič: other platoon's medic. we don't see him much beyond the very beginning and very end (once the company's been completely whittled down they run into each other frequently when treating injured men), but he and tobias are pretty close since they went through training together.
actually. ykw. i have a whole thing to keep all the potentially important men of this company sorted (not factoring in replacements)
organized as follows: overall company (edelweiss company), the main cast is in 2nd platoon, so all sections that apply directly to 2nd platoon are expanded just in case i need names. i think it's pretty neatly organized but i'm also the neurotic freak that made this. stars are next to important guys, crosses next to ones that died in battle (that our main character knows of, ie; some soldiers get shipped off to hospitals and never come back but he doesn't get word back that they die). disregard the A, H, and S markers, they were originally meant to mark who's from where, but i have to redo it to make it more accurate to the actual ethnic makeup of the austro-hungarian army
tldr: this is a huge cast and the lines between important and unimportant are very blurred because 99% of them exist for the sole purpose of "MAYBE i'll need someone to do xyz"
i have not yet received a diagnosis for anything
