Inspiration from Ottoman Helmets by 45 Kilo, Berlin

In search for pendant lamps for the Freunde von Freunden office, we discovered these hand made pendant lamps by 45 Kilo Studio in Berlin.

The shades of these lights are inspired by old ottoman helmets and they come in polished and untreated brass, copper or aluminum. By the time they develop a beautiful patina which will reveal the inherent colors of each material. They are hand made in a traditional metal spinning workshop in Berlin and polished by hand. 

You can buy the lamps at MY KILOS, a new furniture label founded by Philipp Schöpfer and Daniel Klapsing. It distributes selected pieces of their design studio 45 KILO and will soon broaden the collection with pieces from likeminded designers.
