Where online could I possibly buy old CDs for cheap? (This is prolly a stupid question, sorry). Also, I wanna do an Emilie Autumn themed cosplay(?) for Comicon next year and I was wondering if there’s any really good pictures of her outfits out there (or just literally the outfit in a store). I wanna do a mix of Asylum and Opheliac. Thanks!
On CDs for cheap (not a stupid question at all!): Right now there’s a significant downturn in EA’s popularity, as there often is when she goes on a tour hiatus or an extended break. So, lucky for you, that means her CDs are generally much cheaper than normal from third party sellers. Here are my recommendations:
Discogs
eBay (worldwide location settings)
Projekt (for GJWHF&BR EP only, new and sealed)
Expect anything from Renaissance Management to go from $200-$500, Seraph Records to be $40-$60 (if legitimate), Traitor Records in the $60-$300 zone, and all Trisol/The End Records albums anywhere from $10-$80. But, honestly, her Trisol catalog is going really cheap right now. You’ll probably get lucky.
If you want to purchase Fight Like A Girl, The Opheliac Companion, The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls: Behind the Musical, or The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls audiobook, visit The Asylum Emporium.
On Outfits: If you wait until Halloween, I’ll be posting a long-form series about costuming with detail shots and info about the production and design of most of EA’s costumes. If you don’t want to wait, here’s some good resources for photos:
BonnyTymePyrate (Costume Tag)
The Opheliac in Her
The Opheliac in Her (Photoshoots)
As for buying off the rack, I only have a couple of ideas for you.
Vecona is selling a costume of hers from the Opheliac tours. She designed costumes for EA’s stage show from 2007-2008. This is literally an EA item. (I have been so, so tempted to buy this over the last few months but I can’t justify it.)
There’s an Etsy Artist who’s selling a costume inspired by the Rat Queen.
Hope this helps!
