BLACKNESS pt. 1
Racism is obviously alive and kicking but its extremely hard to sympathize with my race when the majority of the damage done is caused by us (I'll expound more on this subject in its entirety in another post).
This trending topic on twitter is just more evidence on how we're focused more against competing with one another than we are with educating each other or coming together to defeat the stereotypes and images that the world has of us. Our culture is MESSED up! Listen to our mainstream music and look at the images of us and who our kids aspire to be. A black man looks at another black man for too long and somebody is bound to get fought or shot but we're in an uproar when another ethnicity takes one of us out (just because its publicized)
I'm as pro-black as the rest of us (trust me) BUT i also understand that we have some work to do and EVERYBODY else isnt to blame at this point.
