Venerable Pope Pius XII granted that the Feast of the Holy Face of Jesus be observed on Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, he fulfilled the desire of Our Lord that His sorrowful Holy Face be contemplated in reparation for our sins.

While being one of the most vital moments in whole Christianity, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is also an event that raises many questions. For example, some people believe that it was only a spiritual resurrection, which is half true because it is clearly described as both the spiritual and physical presence of the Lord. Some may also argue whether Roman soldiers could fall asleep so that someone could move the large rock and steal Jesus’ body without detection. Was that even possible?

Fortunately, people’s assumptions and long-held beliefs don’t make the event any less valuable. Right now, you can take a look at the rare 19th-century holy icon depicting the very same Resurrection of the Messiah. Looks astounding, doesn’t it?
