Our house is on the market!!!
We did it! Oh man, all our planning and we are actually starting to see results! When the for sale sign went up, I was so excited. This is actually happening! I can’t believe. Then our agent came to install the lockboxes. Oh my gosh, this is for reals! Filled with excitement and tons of overlapping emotions. I do like our house, it’s got this big open floor plan for the kitchen and living room. Seeing the pictures the professional photographer took remind me why we fell in love and bought this house in the first place. It was our first time owning a home. And now full circle, we are selling it to move on to the next step.
All the cleaning is getting to be a bit much. The dogs stood up today and shook, and we just saw hair flying through the air. It’s a non-stop uphill battle. But people are coming to look. We are scheduling viewings nonstop. We had one Wednesday, Thursday, and today (Friday). Our agent just texted us about one Saturday. Holy cow, it’s non-stop! But also amazing. The same things that drew us to the house are drawing others as well. It’s a good house and people love the pictures and love the layout.
The hard part is taking the dogs out every. single. time. They’re getting tired of it too, honestly. It is exhausting. Today, Holden’s first weekened day, we had to wake up with an alarm. In fact, I don’t get a single day this week to sleep in. I’ve had to be up and out of the house for showings so many days. And then I’ve got to be up early for work the next few days.
There’s a lot happening. I’m starting to realize this is happening. Since I’ve been taking point on the planning, it’s amazing to see it all come together. Holden still has a bit of trepidation, as he has been the bread winner and focused more on that. But we’re both getting there. My trepidation is starting to give way to excitement. With Dakota being reactive, and Pluto being loud and barking at everything, there’s always that underlying worry and fear when I have to find something to do out of the house for them, to keep them entertained and also away from other dogs and people. And the exhaustion is real. We don’t even want to cook at home, cause we can’t leave dirty dishes for a second. So we’ve been eating out a lot, or just plain skipping meals to avoid the clean up afterwards.
But it is actually happening. I’m glad we have an agent we can trust. I know we are in good hands. I’m glad there is lots of interest in the house. Here’s hoping we get an offer we accept before we actually move. That would be fantastic. But, either way, the puzzle is starting to take shape. And that’s pretty swell indeed.
